Hey, Just wondering how much you guys think this frame is worth?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/74259727@N03/
Got a it a while ago and after a year of riding I must now sell unfortunately... But reluctant too.... I think knowing a approximate value may make me consider the economics of keeping it. (After stripping it down selling the wheels and groupo it does not get much use apart from a weekly hug/clean)
What I know - It is a 1985 Merckx frame. Steel. (Geometry does not add to worth) but it is 59//61. Columbus SLX
Really I am just wondering... But if anyone here seriously wants it them PM but currently not for sale.
Thanks in advance for what I am sure will be useful information.
It is in a good condition with a few marks but noting serious at all.

What model / tubing is it? It'll be stamped under the BB shell.
61cm is just at the top of the large scale, so larger than this and prices start to lower as they only suit giants.

Yes - I knew this info just forgot to put it up!
Columbus SLX
Under BB Shell is stamped OX (Gap) 2757

Dented and chipped from 1990: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STUNNING-mint-1990-MERCKX-CORSA-colombus-frameset-size-61-team-TELEKOM-/250963018037?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item3a6e8fc135
Newer, Columbus Brain, more common size: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Eddy-Merckx-Strada-O-S-Columbus-Custom-steel-Campagnolo-frame-set-56-/170757333993?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item27c1ee23e9
I'd pay an extra £20 each for having a Campag BB and headset.
So, I don't know, ballpark £200 - £250? Nice colour too; I've noticed that has quite an impact on sales on this forum at least.

If yours is in good nick, then £250 might be closer, going by eBay sales.

£200-300 i'd say.

Thanks for guidence so far - Was kind of wishing for more £300 "valuations" but Im sure at a stretch I could sell for that much if required.
I saw one sell in the states sell for around £340 and that got me excited... But I suppose that might have been a one off.
Good to know and thanks for pretty swift feedback! :)

Only takes two who really wants the frame and the price could rocket. I was looking for one of those frames last spring and back then i remember them usually selling for ~£350. Prices go up n' down.

How much could I expect to get for Shimano 105 10 speed 5603 Groupset? Used condition, works fine.

any ideas how much my Peugeot Richard Virenque team replica frame and fork is worth? http://s1202.photobucket.com/albums/...t=IMG_0884.jpg
-
• #463
All $50 jokes aside, probably really is only worth £50 TBH.
-
• #464
Really? Oh okay, I just havent seen any around
-
• #465
take a proper photo if you want an accurate valuation

• #466
I will later on today

The version you have is rarer than the first blue and yellow, steel, Richard Virenque replica (I used to have one, it came new with a king of the mountains jersey) but not exactly a collectors item. As a complete bike in good condition it might just be worth £200, but just the frame, honestly, they aren't worth much.
One problem is that Richard Virenqe didn't actually ride a Peugeot in the tour. It was a Pegoretti painted up to look like a Peugeot. They were made in large numbers, no no real collectors value. Also, he was on massive amounts of drugs, and got caught, so again........

Or, just put it on ebay and whatever it sells for is exactly what it's worth.
(Fiddy dorra etc.)
-
• #473
£100, £75 of which is the wheelset.
-
• #474
for the bike i reckon with that spec about £350-£400?

^ joke or not?
I was gonna say £100ish. Apart from the wheels, cranks and brakes, all the components are beer money. Bog-standard frame doesn't help.
Your friend would probably get more money if he parted it out, unless he sells on ebay with some very fancy photography.
any idea on these?
two campag chain rings,
1 52t and is brev campag and the other 47t and says patent campag.
