not a real problem, but easily fixed with a 2mm alloy shim on the drive side between the bottom bracket cup and the frame to correct it.

It might affect your chainline, which is a problem if so.

I shouldn't imagine its a problem, I've seen a few (particularly older bikes) with a tight chainring/chainstay clearence.

right, so currently trying to put my new ride together, but I've hit a snag...
I've got dura ace 7600 crank arms and a Shimano UN54 BB (110mm-correct according to Sheldon)
The BB is in fine etc.
I've tightened the crank bolts as much as possible.
The non-drive (left) crank is about 8mm from chainstay (facing back)
The drive side (right) is about 4-5mm from chainstay.
After speaking witha couple of mates, they say this shouldn't be a problem.
Just wanted some opinion from my usual source of reliable info...... let the ribbing begin
