  • ... telling your parents you're gay.

But on a serious note, it's meant to be super good for your glutes and quads.

I'm considering it but not sure I can bring myself to do it, especially not publicly.

Does anyone here do it for crosstraining?

  • Ice skating uses the same muscles as cycling apparently, so it's probably fair to say that rollerblading would also use those muscles too.

    1. Going up a hill of any description is torture and makes you want to walk instead.
    2. If you skate on the pavement, everyone hates you but if you go on the road, everyone hates you.
    3. You look a right bellend.
  • Just like running then.

  • My sister's boyfriend lives in Mallorca and roller blading over there is really big right now. He got her some from christmas. I lol'd. They have quite good multi-use cycle/rollerblading/walking paths at the side of the road though. And they're smooth.

  • roller skiing might be a more attractive option.

  • Heh. Bladin'. Aggressive. Probably be cool again soon!

  • Rollerblades will never be cool.

Close thread or it'll come back to haunt you.

  • With your shirt off going backwards through cones.

  • Gotz a £200+ pair of Bauers from about ten years ago, used them oooooh twice. Great nick, size 10 but will be good for 9-10.
£20 and I'll throw in a manly and knowing nod of the head. Rollerblades are for hard men and that is a FACT.

  • There are quite a few skaters that hang around this forum, me included. A lot of the speed skaters use bikes for training, it's a good way of building up your fitness both on skates and a bike - many of the same muscles are used in both activities.

With a ghetto blaster on my shoulder

Unfortunately I'd want a 9, suitable for 8.5. Cheers though. In all seriousness if they were my size I probably would to give it a crack

  • ^ Dun Kno. 'ARD!

Yeah good call. Nobody looks like a bellend when roller skiing.

  • a lot of the tough kids around Catford now scoot around on roller skates

Yeah, I saw a group of kids around Surrey quays the other day and a few around new cross. They're all on quads as opposed to inline skates though. I think the rollerdisco scene is making a big comeback.

  • That'll be hipsters for you.

  • It's all about the Bauer QUADS with these

    None of this 'fruitbooter' malarkey.

    Forum skate session?

  • Doomed from the start..

  • That'll be hipsters for you.

Catford doesn't do hipsters. These were the local kids.

  • Lots of pro cyclists cross country ski in the off season.

Not something that is easily done in England though.
