A fair while, but like I said that was about a year ago, I don't know if it might have degraded inbetween? I didn't notice it being a problem, but I did think it probably wasn't as good as when new. No figures though I'm afraid.
I'm probably worrying about it too much, but I'm just trying to make clear it definitely won't have the original capacity.
There is a test Apple recommends where you leave it running on the same album on repeat at middle volume, I could do that but I'd have to sync it again, having just wiped it!

Sold.
I'm selling my iPod touch as I haven't used it for about a year. It's a 2nd generation 32gb and it's in excellent condition - the front is perfect as it was covered with a screen protector from new, the back has a few very small marks/scratches which is normal (I did use a silicon case, which I'll include, from new too - I don't know how these get there!).
Includes original box with manuals, unopened white Apple headphones and an iPod branded cleaning cloth. Obviously also included is the original charging cable. I've done a factory reset on it to delete all of the data and settings so when you turn it on it will ask you to plug it in to iTunes.
It's almost exactly three years old and has had about two years of occasional use, I'd guess. So battery life is in line with that. It is always possible to get a new battery fitted - you can DIY if you're handy with a soldering iron or you can pay someone to do it for £30.
**[s]£70£65** please. Collection from Newington Green (N1) evenings, Canary Wharf office hours.[/s] SOLD to Tiswas
