    SAFETY FIRST!

    If you lack either the confidence, the equipment, or the experience to guarantee the safety of other riders around you, down country lanes, at night, in a loose peloton, at clubrun-style pace, then think long and hard about whether you should participate.

    These are not 'beginner' rides, but neither are they regimented chaingangs. Be prepared to ride both more slowly and more quickly at any given time in relation to how you'd be riding on your own.

    Make a point of being considerate to commuters or late night train passengers (and railway staff).

    Don't turn up unless you can deal with hypothetical mechanicals, or even a long ride home.

    That kind of thing. Or make up your own fucking rules, and face the consequences…
