Don't see why this would be an issue apart from Peugeot forks can have funny size steerer so you will probably need to use a pug stem and bars too :D

ha just seen the date on this meh
So here's the story...
I thought I would try my hand at building my first fixie after finding a spares or repair 80's peugeot on gumtree, but when I got it home I got my tape measure out and realised the frame was far too big for me.
After a couple of weeks hunting I found a similar condition Sun but with the right size frame on ebay, picked it up and stipped it down and noticed something was wrong with the front forks... lowe and behold one of the legs was about 10mm out of line with the other, the fact that the front wheel was missing should of been a clue I guess but hey i'm still learning..
So I thought I would have a go at beating it back inline with a rubber hammer to no avail and mashed up the thread at the top in the process. After a bit of googling I found that it probably wasn't a good idea to do this and use a fork that had been bent as it is probably now weakened... I value my teeth!
Sooo my thoughts are maybe I could just use the nice straight fork off the large Peugeot and put it on the Sun frame. Although it would need cutting down and rethreading. I've sort of put them together and they look ok but is this a big no no when restoring a frame like this???? or am I just having stupid perfectionist thoughts???
