It's an old skool 1" quill bmx stem. If you keep an eye on ebay you should be able to pick one up. It'll be quite heavy tho...but probably 'bullet-proof" which fits with the hhsb theme.
I love Co-motion bikes, especially that one as set up in the first pic.
