Wanted: 170mm crankset, bb, front mech and levers.

My GF has decided to do the London-Brighton ride and currently has a Raleigh Candice with a single front cottered crank.

She will definitely need the extra ring up the front but think the wheels will be fine to stay as there is quite a big range on the rear cassette.

So. Not fussy about make etc, but need the following....

1. Crankset, ideally 170mm. Compact would be nice but not essential.

2. A compatible bb (English thread.)

3. Front mech, Band on ideally but I already have a braze on adapter which would fit the frame so band on is also fine.

4. Band on friction gear levers, or even better would be the old gear levers which fit around the stem as it is a mixte frame so bending to the lower tube every time you want to change gear might be inconvenient.

I've got an SR Super Custom chainset (170mm) with Stronglight 50/32 rings in very decent order, it's an 86mm BCD so you can get rings down to a 30 from Spa cycles and other places.
I think from memory it takes a 118mm bottom bracket of which I have a new sealed variant but I can fit it to a frame to check out if that's deffo the correct length.
I've also got a basic set of band on Huret friction shifters for a down tube and whilst I realise a stem fitting set is preferable it shouldn't be much of a struggle to fit a rubber surround to secure it. You'd need approx 3-4mm thick rubber to bridge the gap a bit like the stuff you use on bar/seatpost mounted lights etc.
Lastly I've got an older but lightly used Shimano 28.6mm front mech.
