different TPI

Thanks for this. Is different TPI just about being pedantic? I have nylocks on my bike and they hold... Is different TPI likely to destroy the thread or just re-thread it?

Well, you can get them in any TPI you want so thats not an issue.
Nylock is supposed to be a single use thing as they work by mashing up the nylon. Each time you take em off they'll be looser so you'd need new ones fairly regularly.
Tracknuts are win. They also never come undone if you tighten em up properly. -

Yeah, they have a sort of loose grip washer thing attached to the inside of them.
Why solve a problem that doesn't exist?

One of my front nuts popped out [wasn't painful at all] the other day and a friend had a couple of nylocks on him, so I used them as an emergency fix, but wonder whether I should just leave them on. Also, you can buy 50 of those for 3 quid, so my entire fleet can be serviced...
After the plastic insert gets rendered useless, doesn't the nylock act just like a normal nut?

Well. Sounds like you like them. You go girl.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

...then eat it?
Any reason why lock nuts shouldn't be used as axle lock nuts? You can get them dirt cheap and not worry they'd get undone. Probably covered somewhere else, but couldn't find it on the forum. Cheers.
