I didn't get any faster but I learnt to ride down hills. And then I broke myself repeatedly and have now probably forgotten how. And I failed at my only proper trip by having to bail on day 5 of 6 and get the train home.
But I was quite pleased with my first solo cycle camping trip, where I discovered I am actually not bad at putting tents up.
