  • Having said that, Khamsin's are fairly durable wheel set for knocking about in my experience.

  • if you do get the khamsins maybe worthwhile coughing up for the CXs, they are the same but have better sealing on the hubs so better for our climate.

  • I'll take a look at the Planet X ones. The only thing is, I'm a bit of a snob and like Campagnolo build-quality. I wouldn't like to ride wheels I don't trust. It's for an early 90's Italian racer; something like Campagnolo Shamals would be tasty, but too pricey.

My girlfriend runs Mavic CXP14 rims which are good quality, look great, but are a tad heavier than I'd like. I may just build my own, but the Campagnolos looked great for the money.

  • or build your own

amboriso hubs laced to whatever rims take your fancy.

  • Still nowhere near as cheap as off the peg.

I doubt there is any difference between the model b and khamsin build quality.

  • I got some 2nd hand sciroccos from a few years back through the forum for my classy campy crabon build (still waiting to be put together) They are nice wheels, you can get them for not too much more than the khamsins new and they are quite a bit sexier. Maybe worth a look?

  • Where is a Good Barber for a haircut and beard trim (not full wet shave) in east london?

  • Why does anyone think Morcambe and Wise are funny? Why does Paul Merton think they are funny?

  • Keep a straight face through this? then M&W is not for you.

  • Is it too early for party poppers?

  • Depends where you are - probably too late in NZ

  • ^^^whyyyyyyyyy?!!??

  • There's really no point in explaining jokes, and therefore there's no point in your asking why some of us think M&W are funny when you don't.

  • why?

  • Is it too early for party poppers?

    Nitro poppers? Never too late.

  • Hadn't seen that M&W sketch before. 2012 is already going well on account of it

  • cooking a 3lb lamb joint, it's had 10 minutes on gas mark 7 and an hour on gas mark 5.... would like it rareish, anyone know if it'll be done now or should give it longer?

  • Tom

Its all about the internal core temperature. Timings for cooking meat will depend on how much bone, the starting temperature (room temp, from fridge etc).

Best guide is to take use the internal temperature and then remember it needs at least 30 minutes standing time.

At Simpsons on the Strand they leave the meat to stand (in a holding oven) for the same duration it cooked for to allow it to fully relax.

People have varying ideas as to the core temp for rare lamb

    Somewhere around 60-65 centigrade

  • Thanks James, need to get a thermometer for next time...

  • Got a letter from the cops the other day about my crash in May.

"I am writing to advise you that police enquiries are now complete.
Despite every effort being made within the framework of the law, police have been unable to identify the driver of the other vehicle at the time of the incident."

"However, court proceedings are now being brought against the defendant named below for an alleged offence contrary to section 172 of the RTA, which relates to failure to give police information associated with the above incident."

So, am I right in understanding, they know who it is but the driver is basically denying it was them so the coppers are taking them to court for not providing information on who was driving, if it wasn't them, you know?

  • you can make a claim against their insurance

do you have a solicitor on your case?

the standard for such claims is very different

  • Nah, I can't be arsed, it was only a dead SLR and some scrapes.
I just wanted them spoken to for fucking off after an accident.

  • Write back and say "What about trying outside of the framework of the law? Call MI5. They're all over that sort of shit."

  • how much does a bike shop charge for a full road bike assembly?

  • Write back and say "What about trying outside of the framework of the law? Call the tabloid media. They're all over that sort of shit."
