I have used Lupine and Exposure lights for years, generally I get them at a reasonable discount from my LBS, keep them for just under a year and sell them on ebay, and upgrade to the next best model. I hardly lose any money doing this, and am now on an Exposure Six pack.
The low setting is perfectly OK for road use even at speed, and lasts 24 hours, the medium setting is more than enough off road, and lasts for 10 ish and the high provides more than enough illumination for any situation where you need a lot of light,
The real beauty though is having so much light on tap can make riding in the dark relatively relaxing. It is a bit of a lump though!
