Different types of bike frame become fashionable or unfashionable in a way that cash simply doesn't. If you want an investment put the money in a bank, if you want joy of an object buy the frame.

Personally I don't like the idea of turning bicycle parts into investment opps. in the long run it will only ruin it for those (like me) who don't have big piles of cash.
