I rarely hear the phrase going forward in a context where it provides any additional clarity or adds any value to the conversation or subject at hand. Sometimes I think these people have a mild form of tourettes that makes them just add words and phrases to the end of sentences out of sheer impulse.
Speaking of pinging, the word note to mean email or sms has cropped up a lot recently. Getting pinged a note is pretty hideous.
