I'm interested in trying velodrome racing.
What does one need to do, before one can ride on the track? Do I need to get a diploma?
Please help me out where I need to start, thanks!

Where are you based?
If you're in London:
Go to Herne Hill in the summer.
Get an induction.
Go to as many beginers sessions as you can before the coaches say your ready to move up to the intermediates.
Spend the rest of the season in the intermediate group.
When you think you're ready and the coaches agree maybe try a few Monday night race training sessions.
Then try out the track league.Manchester has a much more strict system of blue and pink slips, I think it's blue slip first then pink slip. It's explained on their website though.

Manchester = http://pcms.s3.amazonaws.com/ncc/file/1271/accreditation-diagram.pdf
Takes bloody ages..
Tho apparently one of the racing leagues you don't need to be accredited for, but as you can't do the structured training sessions without accreditation that's probably not wise..Also like how this thread has been merged into one which links to an even earlier thread........
Hi all,
