Murtle had one made by Demon but had to sell it because the angle hurt his back/wrists.

What's the question? You want a steel, no faceplate ahead stem? Do you want something that'll suite a classic frame?
'Nice' is a bit vague.

theres plenty of these around if you look on ebay or different forums for a little while. ITM Eclypse ahead is a nice option, I got one for £15 mint and I saw 2 go together for less than 10. Also there are loads of these cheap cro-mo mtb stems that look pretty much like what you want and can be flipped for the right angle, just they're heavier and the welds aren't as clean.

i guess i have to start hunting on ebay, i found some cheap mtb ones but the problem is the all rise up and are 25.4 clamp where as i need a 26.0, if i was to buy one and just flip i think it would kinda look stupid because the bolt would be on top.

the nitto you have up there is for 1" threadless, think the Cinelli is also for 1"

just read the rest of this thread, 26mm will be hard to find, all my links above are 25.4mm. deda had some steel 26mm ahead stems, most will be 25.4mm old mtb standard

- 1" or 1 1/8"?
- Length?
- Clamp size?
If it's 1" and 26.0mm then the wanted thread I started might help, especially posts #3 and #4.
I bought a couple of the Kelly ones and they seem nicely made. Obviously heavier than a normal alu one tho.
- 1" or 1 1/8"?

Silver ahead stems nearly always look shit. They belong on cheap MTBs

Just had a bit of a search to try and prove you wrong...
...turns out you're right.
This is about as close as I got:

That said, I'm rocking one of these, and I think it's awesome.

:) I'd stick a nice carbon seatpost on that and a glossy/wet Ritchey stem instead.

THe Grammo also comes in 1/8.

Moots' mtb stem comes in both flavours I think. The best use is on a Cannondale track with bull horns and black deep v featured in the pron thread. I'm sure someone will post it.

MTBsThey look shit because they're mostly +ve rise, have gash logos and/or fugged out welds.
i am curently looking for a nice stem, but my biggest problem is that i need an ahead stem, and i find them fugly, is there any ahead stems that kind of look like quill stems
like this
i can see that the one there is a Nitto and tbh i don't really want to splash out alot on a stem, is there any other stems like this? or are they custom made and expensive?
