  • I've also managed to get hold of a 23mm TA puller - I and it are in Highbury if anyone needs to use it

  • I think (but i would have to search the CR list archive) for verification, that the Stronglight can be used on TA cranks, but not vice versa. I will try and look into it, i know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but I know I read something about this a while back.

  • I stand corrected—from Sheldon Brown's archives:
"To service a T.A. crankset, you need a T.A. puller. For Stronglight, ideally, you should have a Stronglight puller, but the T.A. is usable (although it fits a bit more loosely than it should)."

Someone mentioned that the old Park CCP-1 crank puller had a TA puller on it (it was double sided). Might be easier to get a hold of than the TA puller!

  • Chaps, guess you've solved this now, but there's a 49D puller on eBay right now for £27. And if anyone needs to borrow one in the future, I have one (west London) so shout. Sorry I missed this thread...

  • Hey everyone, I Desperately need a 23MM T.A CRANK PULLER ASAP...

I'm going on a cycle tour for 2 weeks through the north of england this Saturday. Sourced 3 brand new replacement chainrings for my T.A Cyclotourist chain set, tried to get it off tonight. I need to get the totally knackered unusable ones off and found out I need the rarest of rarest tools.

I live in Pimlico and will be at Putney Cycles Thursday Friday, our workshop doesn't have the right tool and I'm supposed to be getting the train up there Saturday morning....

Does anybody have one in London that I could borrow. Need it by Friday daytime otherwise I'm right up the hoo har. will repay however possible for such a kind deed. Pm me if you can help,

Even a heads up on who or where I could locate one would be much appreciated.

    Thanks so much!

  • I have the TA one but don't have a chance to get it to you, totally locked down in work. If you can get to Gray's Inn Road during working hours you could borrow mine. PM me if you have permissions, or reply fast!

  • Hang on a minute... at the top of this thread eyebrows posted that Holdsworth have the TA puller, no?

  • Didn't he say they have the stronglight one? lemme check, i was going to call them in the morning to find out either way..

  • eyebrows didn't specify what cranks he got removed and initially they were chatting about strong light ones. daaaarhghh

  • Hey everyone, I am looking for a TA crank puller too but am not as desperate as Mancub it has to be said. Bought my first racing bike to do up and when it was finally road worthy the left crank arm snapped on it's maiden run. Gutted. Does anyone have one I could use. Am living in Mile End but can get about.

    Would be eternally grateful.

  • I have Stronglight pullers along with TA and Gnutti splined extractors all remade , do not use TA on the Stronglight ,its .35 smaller and will pull the threads out, usually have them on Ebay but message me if not , Windsor UK
