They are 11 speed compatible. That means in effect that they are 9, 10 and 11 speed compatible.
The 9 speed compatible hubs are only compatible with 9 and 10 speed.
Hope that makes sense? PMP machined away a bit more of the hub shell to accommodate the greater overhang of the the 11 speed cassette. The cassette body itself is no different, and nor is the flange spacing. In effect the 9 speed model is old stock whereas nowadays they only make the new 11 speed version.
