  • Yo!

Maybe someone here know what happened to me...

My micro SD card stopped being recognized by my phone (Samsung Galaxy S), same if trying to connect it onto a computer. Tried to format it, no luck, tried to turn off / hard reboot the phone as suggested on Samsung forum, nothing...

As I was trying this, my phone was on my desk at work and I noticed the micro SD card was extremely hot. Took it out of the phone, slotted it in again after it had cooled down, and it became very hot again. Took it out again to avoid further damage.

I bought a new Micro SD card at the supermarket las night (£7 for a 4GB, did not want to buy a large / more expensive one in case it would not work... the original one I had was a 16GB...) The new micro SD card seems to work normally, no overheating, access to data is fine...

Conclusion I have lost a 16GB card and data (only music, and not so important files), so damage is limited... However, someone knows why and how a card can just stop working, could there be a fault with the phone? I am reluctant in buying another "expensive" micro SD card (16GB) in case it happens again...

    Thanks for your expertise guys!

    Loic
