    Last week my roommate Paul went mountain biking in Bend, Oregon. On their trip they met this guy Jeff. Enamoured with his bike, Paul took a few pictures and talked with him some. Guy said it was an old prototype and was out for a spin.

    It was only later that they thought that Jeff was possibly Jeff Jones of www.jonesbikes.com.

    EDIT: Turns out it wasn't JJ. Just someone who built a fork exactly like Jones is known for.

    Interesting point of note - he told Paul that this needed to have a load on the front or it to feel right, and in fact his load was this and 2 front panniers. Hard to say but points to a low-trail setup.

  • ^^^ oooh. Yummy.

  • awful rims, cranks and brake levers but others wise ok

  • Rear rack not horizontal, also gap between fender and rack should be the same on front and back. Pedantricky, but actually easy to do if you're capable of installing racks in the first place.

  • As much as I liked IF, I wouldn't want that bike in the first place, unless it been build properly (with proper aero levers, paintjob, cranks, etc.)

    Time for Surly love;

    As in why not just have a rear rack?

    I'd guess it's something to do with access to the brakes/mudguards/wheel changes(?).

  • that's better than a rear rack with panniers, especially when the bike still feel normal to ride despite being heavier to lift

    good point. its a fucking pain i the arse trying to adjust my braks when the bike's loaded up. However i'd never fit nearly enough kit on one of those.ˆˆˆ

  • Finally found a solution for front light, I use the Paul mount that designed for the fork, unfortuantely rack got in the way and covered the light, so I mounted it on the rack itself.

    much better;

    The best thing about it, is that it force you to think about what to take, than to take as much stuff.

  • believe me, I take the bare minimum. It's very important to have enough materials when I go away to paint, if i run out of something and i cant work it defeats the whole purpose of the trip.

  • front light slightly obscured...

    Any more pictures/information on this one? Can't find much about cherry bicycles on google, but I love it.
