  • You know as well as i do they are not blind..they do not look..we can at least agree on that..

    for a change..

'they' are forced to when you have 120lumens up front and 75 at the back...

  • Either way, my accident was in broad daylight.
    Lights have no place here

  • It's debatable.

Lots of people ride around in broad daylight with high-powered lights designed to catch people's attention. I do and it makes me feel safer.

I reckon lots of motorists, particularly people who don't empathise with cyclists (IE they don't cycle and don't know anyone who does) look but don't see people on bikes, because what they are looking for is cars/buses/lorries, which explains how they can pull out on you, despite looking straight at you. With a massive blinking light pointed at their faces, I reckon it's harder for them to ignore you.

It's not going to protect you against everything, but it's better than nothing IMO.

  • Dan in 'sensible post that doesn't tell you to buy something' shocker!

*although he kinda implies you should by some lights for the daytime.

  • I do wholeheartedly agree with what dan says though - and wouldn't dream of riding my motorbike without lights on all the time for that same reason.

  • I have no issue with blinking lights in the daytime. Horses for Courses though.

Neil in 'imitative headline announcement style' shocker!

  • I was really bored today sorry.

  • if you dont ride a form of 2 wheeled transport then you dont look for bikes as dan implys..

wont go in to the ejits commuting with none at 7am!!

Anyway..hope your feeling better Barry..back on topic..

I'll just pop down the cop shop and inform them about wasting energy making blue flashing lightyness in the daytime, on my way back i'll let the fire brigade know too. All these years they've been doing it so wrong...

    wtf

There was an old geezer there and he said it was the windiest he'd ever seen it.

btw, it's called windsurfing. Surfing is very different (shit)

Good point. Question is, do you continue to put the hammer down when you see someone trying to pull out fairly aggressively but has not made any eye contact with you - even though you have the right of way?
    Self preservation FTW.

Glad to hear both riders aren't down anymore.

Just wrote a paragraph of gobshite about why it shouldn't be called surfing. But then deleted it for fear of sounding anally retentive.

Your right I am a douche.

  • =p
