yeh, i see that now, was looking for the bb shell but couldnt see behind cranks..
Hasnt there been cases that the thin join of the chain stays --> bb shell shearing off?think that was the cheaper pre cursa

what frameset is this? lusting for a modern frame recently
yerp its my track champ, stripped and in the process of having the welds sanded down! thinking of getting it powder coated gun metal grey, have a mate who could do it for me cheapz
It's a nice ride thus far, very stiff and reactive even with the wheels being shit heavy. Clearances are very tight too

how much does the whole build and the wheels weigh? I've been eyeing the track champion for a while.

Boy's bike project mocking up stage. My son's ten soon, and this should keep him happy.
Small frame I got a while ago, trying to use parts that are in the drawer.
650B wheel rims to lower the frame a little, mudguards to disguise the gigantic clearances.sweeeet

Is this is a special bike? It seems to be largely intact from the time that it was built (1970's) save for upgraded pedals, seat and bars.
Basic spec:
Reynolds 531 Holdsworth track frame (see the rear axel slot) with Campag rear end.c-c seat tube is 59cm. I know this is longer than you requested, but the bike is 2" more close-coupled that most modern configurations, and I have no probs with it at 5'8" tall.
c-c top tube 58cm
Vittoria Georgia22 tyres
Mavic MA2 rims
Mallard, France back hub, Normandy front hub
Shimano pd-r540 pedals
Rocket brand flip-flop rear sprocket (18 fixed/16free)
Campag seat post
Brookes swallow seat
SR Royal front crank (52 teeth)
Sedis chain
Universal front brake (mod 77)
Nitto bull handlebar
Cinelli Stem
Charge handle bar tape (needs replacing)There is an old transfer on the stem that is partially legible reading 'Broadribbs Ltd, Market St, Oxford's Bike Specialist.' This shop is still there, but has changed hands now.
