My names Charlie and i'm new to the LFGSS- i'm a mountain biker/CX by trade :-) I was going to list this bike on eBay, but to avoid expensive fee's, I thought i'd try here first; you lot seem to know what your on about!
Anyway:
For sale is my Peugeot Pure Gold retro road bike.
I believe its a 1982 model, however, it is in amazing condition for its age! Only has very little surface rust on the rims, thats it! Made with Peugeots Carbolite 103 tubing. Would look the nads with drop bars on it, I simply don't have the space for it.
The only problem is the rear wheel is buckled and would need replacing, front wheel is slightly buckled, but useable.
It has 12 gears, all work, very well I must add. The mechs are both Sachs Huret. The bike has a brown leather Brooks saddle which is very comfortable. Currently has normal uprise bars with bar tape instead of grips- I found this comfier.
700c wheels, bog standard Weinmann road brakes and are very sharp! Will come with basic slick tyres (not the Specialized ones picture) and some basic silver pedals.
Would make a great hack for work (which is what I used it for, however i've recently bought a new bike on the Cycle-To-Work scheme), or an ideal base for a project. Any buyer would not be disappointed.
As you've probably gathered, I don't know too much about road bikes, certainly not retro ones! I'll try and answer any questions you may have, ASAP.
**I genuinely have no idea of its worth so I will be accepting offers! **
Judging by other threads though, the seat must be worth a fair bit alone, may consider splitting! Maybe some could tell me what sort of region I should be expecting?
It will be posted by Parcel Force or DHL- most likely same day (certainly within 3 working days), boxed and very well bubbled wrapped (i'm located in Lincolnshire), so please take this into consideration on any offers. I presume you guys use PayPal? I would prefer that to be honest.
I'm going to attempt to upload some pictures I took earlier on my phone, so don't be too harsh on me if it goes wrong.
Hey guys, thanks for looking at my thread!
