Maybe they're just pretending to be French so that they spark interest and conversations like this one which will make more people go and ask them why they're French...
Or maybe it's just that the owner is French and wants to have people to talk to about 'real food, not zis english rubbeessh'.
And I agree, one waitress was grumpy, but more towards her colleague than us, poor girl.
