For a flat bar lever set-up you'll probably need the mtb version, so that you get enough 5mm and 6mm end pieces and the little widget that replaces the V-brake noodle (assuming that you're still running a V-brake up front). The road/STI version omits the widget, and gives you two long pieces of spiral metal instead (to use on drop bars, where the cable exits the shifter). Road version also inlcudes less 5mm and 6mm end pieces, which might or might not be a problem depending on how many cable stops you have/how continuous you want to run the liner.
