I'm guessing that invites to the top 10 ranked teams in the National Series will be in the post....

Re. London Invitational Polo Tournament
Maybe it's just me, but I'm increasingly curious as to why there isn't an obvious discussion thread on this site or LHBPA about what appears to be an important UK competition taking place in just 4 weeks time and how/where they are recruiting 'over 20 teams'. Has Bernie Ecclestone suddenly shown an interest in bike polo...

Not exactly in the public domain, but there is an ongoing reference to the tournament in some recent LHBPA minutes -

Interesting line about not 'losing sight of grass roots'.

yeh Jono's just on his way round to pick me and Adam up...
maybe its too early to be discussed yet or its in that London thread place we cant see?

Apparently it's invite-only to the best 18-20 teams in Europe - so expect the NS rankings to be ignored/devalued when it suits.

I'm going to check who runs/organises these areas tonight - fairly sure it's the city council, which would be good... The disused bit could be the solution for tournaments if the surface hasn't gone bad.
Check satellite view.

Hey Neil,
we checked that area out last a couple of years ago when we used to play in their front car park, the new courts are 5 a side football courts, there gravel or might even be astroturn now, not good enough for polo anyway, the red tennis courts next to them are more suited to polo but in a pretty bad state, cracked, weeds etc abit like whitworth used to be, i dont know about the area in the field (old courts) but i know there not connected to the armatige centre directly,(no through path) so i would think there more likely belong the grammar school maybe? if you go give us an update, things may have changed since then

Boo, hiss...
Bet Tornadoes play.
Think of them as mini polo balls
