  • hey guys, have a quick question for you all. Recently just purchased two pairs of janoksis, from this seemingly uk based site, it even comes up in U.K. shopping when you google it. It is in fact however a site based in fucking Shang Hai, and they screwed me out of 150 quid

    http://www.lateststyles.co.uk/

the site looks very legit, and apart from the name there are no tell tale signs of it being a fakes site from china, all the english is perfect, paypal icons etc.....However like with mosts scams I was blinded by something I really wanted. On closer inspection, the paypal icons just link you to someones twitter, theres no address or email given of the company. And when it came to payment I payed via some weird bank but stupidly didn't think to question it. Really fucking pissed off, just have some shitty ass fake nikes and a hole in my wallet. Does anyone know of anyway to attempt to get my money back ????, any help appreciated. Oh yeah and to make things worse they sent one of the pairs of shoes in the wrong color way, not that I wear them anyway

  • sorry, put it up somewhere else as well. Just forgot to edit.

  • the transaction wasn't done through paypal it was done via paypal. And yeah, I'm going to ring the bank tomorrow morning, hopefully they can sort something

so was it via paypal or not?

  • shit, stressed typing, it was done via visa. If it was paypal I'd be golden

  • If you paid by credit card you should be covered also?

  • I most certainly hope so.

  • To be honest the site looks far from legit and the amounts of certain trainers they have should have sparked your spidey senses. You live and learn eh? Hope it's not an expensive lesson...

Yeah looking back it was a stupid move, but as I said with every scam your blinded by something your really want which was defo the case here. I stupidly assumed it was legit because it had a u.k. url and it came up for shops located within the u.k. ...... I feel like an idiot

  • Website looks dodgier than a £5 note with a picture of Iggy Pop on it where The Queen should be.

  • thanks, given a bit of hope here. As usual the best forum on the planet :). I swear after 5 minutes I have someone I dont even know giving me good feasible advice.........

There are currently no product reviews.

    always a bad sign

    /hindsight

  • in hindsight, there was a lot dodgy with that website.......... makes me blame myself for getting scammed more than anything ..

  • sorry about your cash. Tiswas is right - your credit company should help.

This site is far from legit.
    www.lateststyles.co.uk/shippinginfo.html

"What delivery method does Wiggle use"?

I can't find a record of "latest styles limited" on companies house and the company number is actually for a car based company based in Gloucestershire.
Tip go to the "webcheck" area if you ever need to check a companies details - it doesn't cost you anything to check the most basic information.

  • Might want to pop an email off to trading standards and google as well....
