my bike was stolen last week and I've since been too busy to properly scour the internets in search of an alternative.
Now my modus operandi with it had been that I thought since it was such a piece of trash (an old HAWK cycle that was too small for me frame-wise) nobody in their right mind would want to burgle it. For that reason I bought a £9 lock that could be chewed off. Sadly I was mistaken and it was taken.
Suddenly the opportunity arises for me to purchase something proper to replace it. A bike that'll be light and sturdy, preferably with a steel frame and sealed bearing hubs, for which I'll get a proper heavy-duty lock and whenever possible keep inside closed quarters.
I have been dreaming of the GENESIS Day One Flat Bar for a while now (or the slightly more expensive Cross) but I have nowhere near the RRP of £600 or €650, respectively. I found a site a while back (through this forum actually) where it was on sale for £300 for a time but I've since misplaced it.
Is there any place where I can buy them for about 50% less? (Gumtree only shows one, the 3-years-ago model in black, for £250, but it's stolen for all I know, and eBay has one for £500 which is still way too much dosh).
Otherwise I'd be open to suggestions for older bikes that fit the solid single-speed steel-frame preferably 24.5" frame mold.
Gumtree has the 09 black model for £250? And thats how much you are willing to pay?
Er, why are you hanging about?

Formatting Help
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot

For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:

Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.

Hi guys,
my bike was stolen last week and I've since been too busy to properly scour the internets in search of an alternative.

My price capacity goes up to £250. Ideally £150.
All the best,
