I don't really understand what the issue is with them.
If it were me, knowing what I know (and prefer) now, I'd buy the alu because of the carbon forks/ahead, and rack mounts.
But from looking at the specs, you've got a Reynolds 520 frame, sugino cranks, and a solid looking wheelset. So there's nothing topend, but for the money it looks solid and good quality. Plus it has a nice retro look to it.
I especially don't see why the plugs (RRP ~£550!) get so much love compared to langsters.
