For Sale: Vitus 979 frameset (57) - bent top tube!

For sale there´s a Vitus 979 lightweight alloy frameset including alloy fork and Bador Competition headset.

The top tube looks slightly bent. Because of 'non-sureness' I am selling the frame as broken!
The pre-owner wasn´t able to tell me if this frame had a crash or not, because it was his sons bike. He left it in the cellar after moving out to collect dust for about 10 years. There are no signs of stress which can be seen with the bare eye on the top- and downtube, but I wouldn´t suggest to get adventurous on the frame. Unfortunately the bottle cage screw threads seem dead, the screws turn without coming out of the frame.

The fork though looks very nice - after an accurate inspection it seems true. Also the headset (Bador Competition) is in nice nick, rolls smoothly - and the dirt, which can be seen on the pictures, goes off well. So I would say, this frameset might be interesting for someone who owns a 979 and is after a fork / headset / a spare set of lugs / the rear end / chainstays etc.

I would like to suggest 70GBP for the frameset including fork and headset. Please let me know if you think that might me too steep. The frameset is located in Austria / Graz, viewing and picking up the set is possible, postal costs for the set to UK are 25GBP.

If no one is interested in the set I might also consider splitting the set later that month, which would result in cheaper postal costs.

A broken 979 is just that...broken....unlike a 531 steel frame that can be repaired....wall art!
