I'm interested in getting involved with these - are they ongoing or have they died out?
Is this the best way to socialise and ride with people mid-week?
-
• #1279
No, these happen as and when they are asked for if there is someone willing to lead. Its to help people find the drinks during the week from a mid point. So if youre interested in drinks tonight is either in the north atop swains (norths) or youre keen on drinks behind London Bridge Station (South Easts).
Each night has its own drinks, to find it, look at the top bar where it says beers. -

Ah I see - love the fact there's a "beers" button.
'twas good cycling with you on the Dunwich Dynamo Chainbreaker, although that was some time back and I have hardly done any forum stuff since then.
I'll have to deal meself in for some drinks and banter at some point - currently still shaking off a cold but I'll be there.

Ya man - look in the rides section - there's bound to be a fixed ride happening over the next few weeks. If nothing takes your fancy there's the very fun weekly South-east beers to North beers +pizza challenge. It involves plenty of beer and incredible pizza in Highgate :)

Hi gunna13,
Youre more than welcome to join in! This thread is for weekly drinks on a daily basis. If you would like to meet other cyclists on a casual, in the pub, environment, then this is the place to start!
If you live SE London, we have drinks in South East on a Tuesday. If you dont know where it is, someone can lead you there from Trafalgar Square if you would like.
If you look at the top bar, there is a tab that says beers. There it will show you which beers are happening on what days.
If youre looking to crack on with a ride, check out the rides and races thread. There you will find both social rides and races. Plus they will vary from the long to the very social short and normally crazy!WELCOME!!!

I'll be in London for one more night on Thursday, flying out on Friday. Anyone who remembers me from nye want to take me out for one more ride Thursday evening? Semi weather dependent of course. I don't mind a bit of rain but these near gale force winds today are a bit much for recreational pedaling. I'll be staying at the crown plaza near heathrow on Thursday night, arriving in the morning....

Come to Wests!

And if weather is far too shit for riding I'd be stoked if anyone wants to just meet up for some drinks and leave the bikes at home. I'm hoping to avoid a lonely last night in London wanking to pay per view porn on the hotel tellie, ;)

This!

Sounds good. I'm there as long as the weather's not too shit.

will get fit and join you later in year..I hope

Wests usually carries on regadless of the shit weather. Then you can get a tube to Heathrow if the weather is horrendous. It's only about 25 mins

^ I was under the impression bikes weren't permitted on the underground..
-
• #1296
Its fine if you hold on the back and get a tow.
-
• #1297
Just remembered that you rode through the Blackwall tunnel on NYE...don't do the above ;)
-
• #1298
So I think I'll pack my bike up in the bag and take the tube to wests and reassemble it there. Which station? What time?

Look for the West Beer's thread under General. That lot should be able to help you out. West London may as well be France as far as I'm concerned.
