This morning, tootling my way along towards Wandsworth, just coming up from Northcote road over bolingbroke and along to East Hill. I waited at a red, behind a lorry, calmly waiting for the green. I was in no hurry so pedalled slowly across, staying clearly in position.
Then, from the left, some guy on a silvery grey boardman, with a light on his tw+t-hat, wraparound shades and grey lycra bib-shorts decided to just carry on regardless past the car in front of him and through the clearly RED light heading strraight for my lovely merckx and showing no desire to slow his bike or hit the brakes, barely missing me. I would have shouted RED but he was so close by then he would have got my early morning just-outta-bed breath in his face and I very much doubt such a numpty would be on here. Therefore I pointed out that he was a twit (or something similar) and that he had gone straight through a red. He ignored this and continued obliviously and quite arrogantly onwards. Something has to be done to stop this Boardman mentality where buying a souped-up apollo and some lycra from halfords suddenly makes you Bradley Wiggins...
Oh, and shades in early morning fog is not a good look...
