I love that last one! I've been thinking about getting my brother a ratty bike like that for Christmas, he rides his £2000 roadie to uni.... It's in his size too!

What would people reckon that thing's actually worth? I think I might put a bid in on ebay.
-

The old idiot bar and single brake freewheeler.
Worth £50 and that's just me being a sweetheart.
-
• #1733
half of theres bikes dont qualify as rats/beaters.. need to see if I can find any pics of my ol' peugeot(:
-
• #1734
^^ I'd convert it to fixed for him I reckon and get some less god awful bars on it. I think £50 would be the absolute most I'd consider paying but I wouldn't really want to go that high, especially having to travel to Exeter...

don't forget it got tubular tyres too.

Is that Armstrong really worth anything when the seller lists:
The seat tube has suffered some splitting as a result of a stuck seat post - this does not affect the integrity of the bike.
I know steel can be repaired nicely but surely a split tube is a whole can of hurt just waiting to happen.

Actually the fact that the seller uses Comic Sans in the advert should be enough of a reason to boycot the sale on its own.
-
• #1738
Good call actually. My maximum bid has just dripped to about £25.
-
• #1739
Not so rat-ish maybe, but my daily beater/commuter
-
• #1740
crack in the seat tube?
crumbs i didn't even notice that myself
i still like the look though, the bars are stupid but i like the look of the frame and forks,
kinda looks like its been pulled from a canal,

quite like this, dredge from 2009 somewhere on here
That seat tube is sick. Such good skills whoever did that. Anyone know if it was a modification or original design? Looks original from the chainstay length. I want.
-
• #1744
orignal, they've made by a french company I forget the name though sorry
-
• #1745
Only the track end (AFAIK) is a modification.
-
• #1746
I would say ask the man himself, but he seems to have done one
-
• #1747
No more rats to ogle! :(
-
• #1748
Would not ride brakeless...
-
• #1749
