I've got a pair of Mavic rims (vintage around mid-70's I believe) that were damaged in a fire a few years ago. Damage is mainly cosmetic, and they've been checked over by a very reliable LBS for any structural damage, of which they found none. The wheels were swiftly rebuilt after the fire, however there is some marks on the rim probably from melted rubber. Any advice for cleaning this rubber residue off?
