^^^ That looks interesting.
Went out and did 20miles tonight via Rose Hill and Lea End Lane, 7miles ish on unlit roads. I know the roads pretty well, and my light was just about strong enough to see me through. Main dangers seem to be watching out for random wildlife running out in front of you (fox, and then a rabbit). Setting out at 8 o'clock meant the roads were pretty quiet, which makes a change.
Up for a repeat of the above, or Pastry's route if anyone is interested.

Where are you leaving from? I'll be up for riding with you, especially as more lights= more visability....

Thanks 'dan - but this is a Birmingham thread. it sounds like you have a good set up going on there. I only wish we had more enthusiasm for it here....

whoops - i see it now in tiny little blue letters at the top of my screen 'Birmingham' i shouldn't just use the 'new posts' search!
All the places I've lived have had semi-organised night training rides (Edinburgh, Bristol, London). Why not have a look on local cycling club websites. I bet there is something going on that you would be welcome to join.

Just to let you know, a lot of this is unlit. I didn't realise this until I actually did it at night for the first time
Does anyone have any 20-30mile training loops that are feasible at night ? Ideally lit roads and not too heavy with traffic (after rush hour).
My evening rides out to Henley through the lanes are out now until next year
