Campagnolo band-on levers tension

  • Hi
My Campagnolo NR band-on shifters have lost the modulation when you apply tension on the D-ring adjuster, that grips the shifter in place with friction. So when you turn this, it goes from not-gripping to rather tight without any variation between. They used to have quite a bit of springiness in them.

Does the shifter have some kind of domed washer that allows you to apply friction pressure incrementally? I assume there'a just a part I can replace. Can anyone please enlighten me?
    Thanks

not sure if this will help, but this image: http://www.ventoux.com/suntour_ld1500.gif gives you an exploded view of the shifters. my guess is that one of the washers is doomed.

  • Bollocks. just realised that was a Suntour lever. try this one instead: http://whatapalaver.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Gear-Shifter-Parts.jpg. Not quite as illustrated.

  • Aha, so I see there's two washers, that look conical/domed, near the adjuster screw. So I may be after a pair of those. I'm going to ask Campyoldy if he has replacement parts that will fix the problem, so I'm glad to see the exploded shifter, thanks. I've never taken them apart so it's good to know what's in there.
