Drugs in football? Of course there are. Baseball is rife and football has even more money at stake and an implausible governing body.
Clubs have to eradicate it but, like cycling teams, it is possibly the clubs that push it on their players. The actions of ManU in the Ferdinand fiasco were not distinguished by their openness. Spanish and Italian teams, particularly the dominant ones, are barely regulated at all.
Chelsea behaved properly with Bosnich and Mutu but came under criticism for firing them. Apparently they should not have been drug testing their own players and should have left that to the FA. That is ridiculous, like asking Sky not to run any checks on their riders.
Mourinho did apparently sanction blood swapping although it was permitted y FIFA/UEFA regulations at the time. Quite how football should lag behind other sports in its acceptable and unacceptable practices is unclear.
Satisfied Day-Moe?

From the Chelsea Chat site:
These are the only things I've enjoyed about Chelsea in the last month.
So, I am doing some good.

Don't expect many interviews or anything like that.
442's CR7 interview every other month can cevron.
somewhat leaning towards lower leagues and non league.
Good good. Future proofing and all that..

You should stuff Villa tonight they are piss poor, and are quite likely to have Emile Heskey starting too.
Spurs taking third should be happening tonight.
Find it hard to argue really. Gaby's playing well, but the defence has been atrocious so far. Can't seem to defend a set piece or keep a clean sheet.
Looks like top of the mid table group is our target.

There are a lot of top level managers that would disagree with you - Wenger in particular. Note that he sold Henry when he started to slow down, due to injuries. You might still be able to play well, but if you can't run fast, you won't be able to make the grade at the highest level.

“but ultimately it’s a player’s ability to reach a speed threshold of seven metres per second.”
Theo....
ok agreed, the norm is for top athletes but there is space in all teams for Maldinis, Scholes, Cantonas, Crouches, Delaps.. etc those who have a footballing brain or unique asset.
I wouldn't say cycling is the sameI wonder when Wenger will find that bug in his spreadsheet that keeps hiding the rows concerning theos accurate crosses and goals scored/conceded at set pieces.. maybe he should upgrade to office 7 or what ever it is now adays

lots of teams would be glad to have chelsea's problems. world class players underperforming, and all that.
didn't see the first twenty five mins, but the Slain of Teen, said Liverpool were doing the hard work, harrying, and hustling. Chelsea came alive when Sturridge came on, scored the goal, and then pushed on as if they were a goal behind. I'm not a fan of Lampard in the middle, seems to slow play down, doesn't have the legs to get into the box with one of those trademark late runs, and his passing isn't as good as he thinks it is. think a better trio would be Meireles, Ramires and that young barcelona holding midfielder Romeu, with sturridge, torres and mata up front.
Mourinho's got a lot to answer for in relation to the retardation of Obi Mikel, who doesn't seem to know what he is, or where he wants to play.
It's folly for AVB to be under pressure, Abramovich gave him the remit of revitalising Chelsea's play and he's trying to do that, season of remaking them, couple more transfers in the summer window, get back essien at some point, shift out some more dead wood, and hit the ground running next season... Not sure he can remake it on the fly this season, as now all the news is about how much pressure he's under and how Champions league football is a must, otherwise his job is on the line.
As much as I hate to admit it, Wenger did a good job of steadying the ship, plus Arsenal's fixtures helped somewhat after the tonking by united, so the cries for his head had dissipated somewhat.
Anyway the mighty spurs take on Darren Bent tonight, should be interesting, think Bent's going to come out with a point to prove, and no amount of trying to downplay it will change that... Think Defoe will want to show he's a better striker than the england team currently suggests, but Bent is the more versatile front man.. What a front line we'd have if we had Bent and Adebayor.. Doesn't bear thinking about...
Fixtures helped massively for us, but the best part is how we now defend as a team in numbers and push the ball a lot harder than we have for the past 3 seasons.. well since flamini left.
the team realise they have to fight every minute to keep the ball as they don't have the match winners and flair players they once had. this IMO is a great thing for us.Bring on Feb/March for the filthy spuds.. thats going to be an ugly few weeks in the calendar for your lot

Tottenham Hotspur have scored two headed goals from just three headers on target this season.

they all have hair to nice to spoil apart from Defoe who can't reach the ball

I'm not disagreeing that there is space for a Bergkamp (although, as it says in the article, in his later years, he wasn't capable of lasting beyond 70 mins) or a Cantona (although Cantona didn't reach the highest level), but I suspect that one of the reasons why, for instance, Aliadiere didn't reach the highest level was that he was not quick enough, and thus wasn't able to find the time, and therefore space, to score goals.

Heard an interesting story the other day:
Shevchenko is gay and he's yentzing Giorgio Armani. He's models for him...
Plus Sheva's 'model' wife is just a decoy and she's on the payrollCommon knowledge in Italy apparently

Chelsea need a lot more than Essien back in the team.
Drogba and Anelka look like they can't be arsed to pull their weight any more, Torres is a huge disappointment. In Defence Terry and whoever is next to him don't seem to have any sense how to position or hold a straight line due to high pressing game Villas Boas insists on playing.
Midfield is indeed missing Essien but it'd be a huge surprise if he gets back to his former fitness levels after all those injuries.
Ashley Cole is the most consistent performer and that's saying something. On a positive note, Mata and Sturridge are performing well.
Face it. You're all cunts

I remember when we played and beat Liverpool in the FA Cup in around 1982 or 83. Winning that game against the giants of the first division and Europe when we were struggling was amazing. Lock out crowd. Liverpool fans ripping up the terraces and throwing concrete at us and then realising they had no where to hide as it rained back on them.
Yesterday, it appears that the result meant about the same to Liverpool and its supporters. Funny how times change.

Oh for FS, why are you upset by insults directed at scousers? If someone was slagging off south Londoners, I could understand it. You are not a scouser. I have probably been to scouseland more often than you and met more scousers.

I like World Soccer Magazine quite a lot, not so good if you're only interested in English football.
