    It's not just old, it's also rare. 1" forks all but died out within a couple of years of Ahead becoming ubiquitous. Since it was always possible to shim a 1" fork to take a 1⅛" stem, there wasn't any incentive to keep manufacturing 1" stems after you'd tooled up for 1⅛" production.

    1", like steel road forks, quill stems and threaded headsets, now finds itself at the BSO and retro-poseur ends of the market, but not anywhere in between.
