Hey we can ride in together, will you need an alarm call?
-
• #103
In my old local in Stony, you get your first Babylon Chirstmas Day drink on the house. They don't advertise it, you just have to know.
Sniff I miss that pub.

Let's discuss feeder rides closer to the time.

• #105
Talking of feeder rides, I am negotiating the baking of mince pies.

Hey ms.chris, It's not something that I've ever organised a the ride does usually have a tea/coffee stop just after the Regent's park laps and people tend to dip in and out as their own needs dictate.
However, if you want to find a pub which is open and serving (They definitely exist) then I'm more than happy to add it in to the original post of this thread and advertise is along side the ride.
I've been looking without any success. I was hoping you might have a lead on somewhere. Shoot. Will keep trying.
If anyone knows of a pub open and serving food on Christmas Day, please get in touch!

There's The Ship - SW18 1TB, south side of Wandsworth Bridge Rd. Bit of mission but recommended in list I found about pubs open on the day n serving good food.
-
• #110
if it is open, the ship is recommended. tho knowing the ship, it may be by booking only.... very popular place!

The Cambria, just off Coldharbour Lane, is open, both for drink and food.
Their Christmas Day menu is fifty quid a head though.
I suspect most places that are doing food will be charging something similar, given you have to pay staff a bit more to come in on the day.
You have to book with a tenner deposit, and have to book ten days in advance. The Windmill in Brixton will also be open on Christmas Day.
No food, but there will be music.
I reckon that would be a bit of fun. -

... food, who needs food? this is christmas folks, most of us will be stuffed tho the eyeballs with mince pies and yule log*. now drink, that's another thing entirely!
•this is not a euphamism, though it could be

Its just an option for afterwards if people are interested. If not no worries.
Me and ms.chris are definitely going to go somewhere and have a dinner.

THE QUEENS
49 Regents Park Road, Primrose Hill, London, NW1 8XDThis pub is open from 12 until 5 and is serving food on the day.

Hmm. I'll probably drift south towards home once the ride is over, unless its particularly attractive.
JD, do you know what they are serving, or how much it is going to cost?
I was in a Young's pub yesterday in Greenwich, also open on the 25th, but the meal was £40, and the menu was pretty uninspiring. -

Thanks for that, slightly different to the one I saw yesterday.
Any idea how much they are charging for the 25th, in Primrose Hill?
(admittedly I am not even sure where that place is...!) -

(admittedly I am not even sure where that place is...!)The ride will pass very very very close to this venue. There is also another place Spread Eagle on Parkway.
Saw £20something for two course and £28ish for a three course.Could always call them and ask.

Ladies and Gents. As the talk of food seems to be taking over the actual ride would one of you please start a thread and ask Hippy to shift the chatter so that we can keep this thread ride related.
If/when a decision is reached I'll happily advertise a link to the Christmas meal thread.
-
• #124
^Sorry Em just trying to help the folks out who want either a drink in doors or the TOILET like last year we went round the block trying to find a place for the Ladies.
Yes to riding and yes where here to organize a ride. So see you all on the day for the ride> As you were.

OK, will leave pub/food discussion til later on.
If anyone come across any decent, not extortionate options, feel free to drop me a PM in the meantime.
Good to see Digs.
