  • I am in Reading, you are welcome to a test ride, and yes the frame is Alloy, Columbus Airplane tubing, which at the time was the 2nd lightest tubing made by Columbus.

    Here is some blurb about the tubing:-
    Because of its very lightweight and relative low cost as well as ease of fabrication, it is the choice of many pro teams. It has been used by Rabobank, Mapei and Cofidis, among other others. The ride is comfortable and stable for hours in the saddle.

    Columbus Airplane is a triple-butted 7000 series aluminum with mega-shaped tubes for both the top tube and downtube. The top tube is 1.2mm at the butt and is drawn down to 0.7mm at the center. The down tube is 1.3mm and 1.9mm thick at the butts and is drawn down to 1.0 mm in the center.
