For Sale: Viner Lo Pro

  • I am selling my Viner Air Plane lo pro for £500

The bike has been well used, but only for races and the occasional training ride and not all that often, although I have had it a few years.
It has 10 speed Campagnolo Record shifters (which were new at the start of this season) and front and rear mechs, with Chorus cranks (alloy) and cassette.
The wheels are Ursus Pura, an unusual and light light wheelset from Italy. They have had very little use, they are my spare set.
Tyres are Continental, the front is a nearly new GP4000, the rear is a used GP 4 season.
The bars are Deda, Black stick, oversize. They are extremely adjustable. You will see that the original pads for the armrests are missing, these blew off when the bike was being transported to a race. I fitted foam pads that I cut to fit, and these were so comfortable I have left them on.
There is a split in the paint on the top tube, I have no idea how it got there, I suspect it happened whilst waiting for a race to start when the bike was parked, along with two tiny areas where the paint is showing some bubbling on the seat tube it is in extremely good condition.
The paint is a pearlescent white finish.
Forks are ITM 4ever carbon bladed.
Although this is an out and out racing bike, and the geometry is intended to provide a very low riding position, the handling is very good, and excels on twisty courses, unlike me.
The seat tube is 54cms c-c
I am 6 foot tall, and the frame is suitable for someone between 5'10'' and 6'2''
I will send it packed in a proper bike box, and will only charge the cost of the carriage to wherever you are.
Loads more pics available on request, as are more details of the spec

  • Thats a low pro?
is that a low pro version of a road bike?
im a new bee, plz don't judge :(

  • ^^ I think OP means that it's a 'low profile' bike, since it has aero bars. AKA a time trial bike.

It's obviously not a 'low pro' with a smaller wheel on the front (probably what most people were expecting) but bikes like that |(I believe?) are not sanctioned for use in most TT's anymore.

  • High extending seat tube, meaning shorter headtube, meaning low profile.

    Nice bike, good luck.

  • Is the frame full carbon? It's a great price either way! I would be seriously considering if it was a 56cm st.

  • where are you based actually? Would a test ride be possible?

  • I am in Reading, you are welcome to a test ride, and yes the frame is Alloy, Columbus Airplane tubing, which at the time was the 2nd lightest tubing made by Columbus.

Here is some blurb about the tubing:-
Because of its very lightweight and relative low cost as well as ease of fabrication, it is the choice of many pro teams. It has been used by Rabobank, Mapei and Cofidis, among other others. The ride is comfortable and stable for hours in the saddle.

Columbus Airplane is a triple-butted 7000 series aluminum with mega-shaped tubes for both the top tube and downtube. The top tube is 1.2mm at the butt and is drawn down to 0.7mm at the center. The down tube is 1.3mm and 1.9mm thick at the butts and is drawn down to 1.0 mm in the center.
(as taken from a review I found, there isn't much online as far as I can see)

  • OK frame and forks with headset now available for £125 plus delivery

  • That seems like bargain to me, bump (albeit 3 mins after the last post...)

  • I live in Taplow whereabouts in Reading are you? Might be interested in having a closer look.

  • Just near the town centre, west side.

  • I'll PM you later. Ta

  • wow a viner for £125
i'm surprised this didn't go in the first few minutes at the original price

They don't conform to UCI regs but are fine in CTT events, which most are.
