Slack chain

I looked at them for my first fixie and they seem pretty nice, although I can't comment on how well-engineered they are. Decided to build my own fixie instead and reckon I'll be able to do it for less than £270 anyway (maybe not counting the wheels though as I wanted to get a good set, which I can keep even if I sell the bike). Personally, I love the idea of building my own bike, getting it painted and fitting the parts I want and it's great to learn about bike maintenance. Maybe these are pretty good if you wanted to try fixed-wheel riding but don't have massive bucks...

4 out of 8 NoLogo bikes on the website have 'le slack chain' which is in itself, slack.

But I mean, c'mon it's a recession and the no logo fixie is only £270, which as we are in the recession is a good price, no expensive gears, taste or quality to weigh your wallet down.

It's a recession busting deal for sure.

We're saved. Hackney has rescued us, not the Chinese after alll, economic stimulus through the building of the every-man's fixie.

I expect they'll cost more in repairs and maintenance than you'll save be either buying something better or building your own, even on a tight budget.
Just get a Fuji Track, a Dirt Harry and a 105 calliper.
Don't EVER take the advice of a blog with 'fixie' in the title.

Or do. Who cares?

They have been around for ages. Exactly the same as a unipack/create/caramel cycles/st moritz
All a load of shit that makes me want to poc everywhere

threads like this one make my cycnical mind think someone is trying to use the prominence on lfgss on google search results to boost the sale of their cheap tat.
But I could be wrong and this sincere gent was in the passionate throes of deciding which brand and colour of fixie best expresses his soul ~(vintage or modern, deep v's or box, or, by neglecting Foffa am I just going down the wrong track here and everyone will hate on me?!) whilst also representing value for much needed coin.

my mate has one of these, and this shit weighs a ton. They offer some nice colours where you can mix and match. But the parts are just pretty much bog standard stuff that has been cheaply made. For the first few rides it feels amazing but then after a while you can feel the bike giving up on you then having to replace parts and what not, whereas other brands out there such as fuji or specialized will go on for much longer.

I'm interested in hearing what people think about it as I'm thinking about buying one chompy. They look pretty nice, but I thoughts were for £270 what are you getting. Would the chain just bounce off because its slack?
-
• #20
yeah it would, you should buy something else with tighter chain
-
• #21
Don't be silly, you can just buy a new chain for less than a tenner.

Have a look at Ride The Line's other posts. Mostly identical to this. Jump to your own spamming conclusions..........

I don't think he's a spammer - he's only asked about a couple of bikes and only made 13 posts. He just needs guidance on how best not to buy a shitter.
Seen this bike get loads of news recently as a cheap fixie, does anyone have one?
