Epic scope for false positives, since sweat will pick up any surface contaminants on the epidermis. The device looks more like a test for having handled objects contaminated with the target substance rather than a test for having consumed said substance. That also provides a handy route for pigs to fit up innocent victims.

I might quiz my pal on that, although you would have thought it would be something they'd consider.

You could test for metabolites rather than raw cocaine/THC/ethanol/whatever (assuming such metabolites enter the sweat glands, which is beyond my level of pharmacokinetics), although you'd still get fitted up if the coked up pig shook your hand before testing you.

Endemic drug use in other sports?

Surely not.
I notice Nadal doesn't take the opportunity to say he has never doped, and is totally opposed to it.

I think that in the absence of rules that one can explain to a lay person, and instant action on failed tests, you may as well not test- it just brings our sport into disrepute. What a mess.....

Failing a test is failing a test and you're gone. Missing a test you get two chances before you're screwed so if you're going to dope, skip the test.
Not sure if its of any use for sports drug testing but my friend just posted this to his FB wall... something he's been working on
