Florescent jackets aren't what I would imagine your average bike thief would wear but then again maybe that's why he had it on…

Hi everyone, I feel like a bit of a fraud because i don't ride a single speed bike, but my good friend Owen (who does) recommended your amazing website and forum to me. I just moved to london and before i even got to RIDE my bike for the first time here, my lovely early 1990s Trek 8000, in such good condition and a beautiful metallic purple, was stolen outside my flat. I stupidly didn't consider anything sensible about bike security before i came here, so i don't even have a photo of my bike. but it looks very like this one - without the basket. anyhoo, i thought it was worth a post here. Thanks :)

I missed that! Don't want to pre-judge, but it does look, um, less than regular. I've emailed the details to the Cycle Task Force.
Which Cycle task force are you in contact with?
Can you forward me their detials?
Cheers!

My friends bike got nicked from Dalston last night. It doesn't have those wheels anymore but bright green create ones, so quite distinctive and it's a very very small bike as she's about 5'2"
If you see it pop me a PM

was down the grubby sides of brick lane today where i came across a plethora of very nice brooks saddles of varying degrees of condition . most i would say were in very nice condition .....4 stalls selling at least 30 brooks , no other sadddles of repute as far as i could see !
are these stolen or do these sellers of other crappy parts inc. bootleg porn dvds have a great connection to the brooks factory ?
i looked for other parts of quality but there were none , so one must presume these saddles are stolen no ?
unless these chaps all had great fixies they were selling off , was a few bikes + frames mind and sketchy looking characters shifting around

Any of these look familiar? -

It's perfectly reasonable that one guy should be selling 9 slightly used brooks saddles.
He can't find the one that fits just right.

One of the buyers state that the frame has the # scratched out....

I saw that. Not shy are they? Could be a perfectly reasonable explanation of course. Not quite sure what that would be though....

I may be guilty of profiling here, but I spotted a young guy this morning, rocking the latest in Sth London ghetto chic on a anodized green/bronze 29er. Clean frame, stickered forks, wide black risers and stem, and a black rolls. Seen on Bedford Hill heading up Balham Hill towards Clapham. Might be innocent, but he didn't seem the type for that sort of bike... Not much help really, but if it's yours, it may pay to hang out in this area tomorrow around 8ish

apologies to the owner of this bike if i'm being over zealous.
something about this just ddnt look right though - nice felt tk3 just dumped in the corner and only locked by it's front wheel.
spotted last night, 14/11/09, on lower road/surey quays/se16 outside the royal margin chinese restuarant.
