Treated the Giant to a second set of wheels. I took the leap into the murky world of tubular tyres.
I tried to keep it on the budget side of things and went with Dati hubs to Planet X 20mm rims with DT Aerolite spokes. Then covered them with Vittoria Corsa SC 23mm tubs.
I've clocked up 101 miles this weekend on them and have been impressed by the supple ride the tubs provide.
In this set up the overall weight has dropped to 5.675kgs (12.51lbs).
