I can highly recommend the method of placing a large washer between both sets of new bearings and track nuts, and careful tightening of the nuts to bed the bearings.
This was probably the most successful piece of spannering I've ever done - went so smoothly and easily!
Now these once grinding gritty wheels run like butter, so sweet. I'll make a habit of loosening of all the bolts every few months and giving them a quick greasing. That way the servicing/bearing replacement should be a doddle.
I really need to sort out a good workbench and vice though...
