<- Trispok of Regret award for inappropriate wheel choice
<- the FixedCheese Babybel of Speed award for fastest fixed rider

  • The more important point I'm trying to make is that the other person at least can see the rider starting and finishing on a bike, and see the corresponding result on the garmin if necessary. Fairly irrefutable after that isn't it (if people ever get to the stage where they really doubt someones results)

I'll be happy to attempt another 59min result when I'm fully recovered but I'm sticking by that previous result (Strava or not) because it's something I worked at for months to achieve. I'd only be cheating myself if I was lying about it

  • although...

    Summary Data:
    Edited

You can edit almost anything on Garmin connect (calories, cadence, distance, time, speed) so I'm curious as to what, if anything was edited with this one :)

@DJ: the elevation profile is correct in the 'player' tab.

Well I'm glad you got to my point... I certainly couldn't arrive there. Damn head cold
Exactly the same with MapMyRide - you can edit absolutely everything

  • Is this a TT thing? What about a team time?

  • ^^^Fox suggested the creation of the cheese of speed for fastest fixed while FixedCheese occupied the role. I then selfishly took it for myself. I just wanted to make a mini-spok which is why it's there, but stonehedge'll be getting it too after his run this week.
    short answer: yes.

Once I've shifted this dodgy chest that silly wheel award is mine!

Oh and when a 80mm valve extender arrives in the post too.

  • I'd only be cheating myself if I was lying about it

This is why I believe every time that everyone puts up. Only a real loser would tell porkies then post it up here, and we're not losers, we're winners!

  • Maybe the hybrid was made from pure tiger blood....

  • having seen what mick mccarthy can do on his hideous cruiser bikes, i am of the belief that the hybrid time is possible

much as we all like nice bikes, the engine is the more important thing

  • It still doesn't seem unrealistic to me. Looks to be a good position on it (decent saddle-to-bar drop) and based on the cadence data and the boy can spin it well enough. Just needed to broaden your horizons, andy :)
e:^this. though I'm not entirely sure mick is human, so his abilities may not count.

  • I don't have trouble believing that it is possible on that bike. 20mph isn't actually that fast for a reasonably fit person when all is said and done.

What I do find slightly odd is that his minimum speeds seem to bottom out at around 8mph which seems to me that he has set his Garmin to stop timing below 10mph which means that if he takes his time on the hills, they won't be counted.

I'd like to see how he does with his Garmin set to record at all speeds.

  • Hmm.. not that I was ever necessarily in touch, I haven't been out in RP for several weeks now. Maybe I'm struggling to gauge it properly.

    /been f*cking ill too long

  • 20mph isn't actually that fast for a reasonably fit person when all is said and done.

I wanted to say that but thought I'd sound a cock.
on my penultimate geared RP outing (last one I stuck on connect as opposed to strava) my speed didn't drop below 10mph, and I have the cut-off set to five. Nothing dodgy about that.

  • if you were ever in touch

am wondering if you lost track and did two laps and thought you had done 3 (just troll lolling)

I'm never ashamed to sound like a cock.

Coolio, in that case I don't think there is any reason to doubt this chap. Looking at his rolling times he was only stopped for 1s on his 3 laps.

I'd be happy with 29:40ish a lap at the moment ;)

  • hmmm i think i have the day off tomorrow. might take the wheelz down to rp with the garmin that 6pt kindly lent me.
How does it work again tom? i have no idea

  • I may be off tomorrow in which case I might pootle down to the cafe and verify your times at lunch then ;)
    trollololol

  • Good luck! Although you dont know what my car looks like do you?

  • X: Turn on, press start. Ride. Press stop.

  • turn it on. press and hold lap for three second to reset. press start. stick it in a pocket. ride til you've done three laps. press stop. it might be set up to auto-lap, not sure. upload to strava and it'll give you splits anyway.
if you could stick it in 6pt™ Sandwich Bag or something so you don't sweat it to death that would be nice, don't know what the waterproof seals will be like on an old 205 :)
got things to do tomorrow morning but if it's an afternoon sortie I'll try and come along.

  • I ordered a mount for it that arrived this morning so can actually put in on the bike!

  • Hinata just claimed he had done 60 mph I pressed on the issue and it was adjusted to 58mph in Richmond park

I demanded the data, it was actually 58kph!

  • iMPEACH!

Photos doesn't show it but his saddle to bar drop is stupidly big, due to cutting the steerer too short.

Also he spin to win, maybe a little too much at time.
