  • Dunno what it costs tbh, wasn't bank breaking last time I went tho.

Was looking for this thread as I've just won 2x VIP tickets tho. How spooky is that?

    How'd you manage that?

  • all Manc bike shops have scratchcards to give out. the one I got was a winning one. jammy.

Gf has dibbed tickets so she can "snog Cav". I think I want to snog him too, how best should I break it to her? #deardeirdre

A girl i went on a few dates with has snogged Cav, she used to live on the isle of man. He was apparently thought of as the geeky weirdo on a bike, back in his youth. Think this girl definitely liked that type.

  • ^ if u snogged her then u snogged him... #playgroundlogic

unfortunately the VIP spaces for this weekend are all gone so gf will have to pick a different rider to snog at one of the January events

  • Not snogging Cav but quite close.

  • On ITV4 at 1900

  • Some pics from Revolution #36

  • Here are a few of mine as well

  • ^ sweet!

  • Anyone going to this?

Me and the other half are going to two this season, this Saturday, and the one in Jan!

  • Amazed that these sell out. Always looks like watered down racing, and the TV coverage was laughable. You'd think with the popularity of cycling in the UK that we could manage something better.

All fixed except for the future stars racing.

  • Ghent always seems to be quite popular, as does WWE wrestling.

Except I think the spectators to those events have a clue it's fixed ;)
    Plus those are actually entertaining!

Men hitting each other with folding tables, it doesn't get better than that does it?

  • True. There is nothing quite as spectacular as watching a man with a mullet in lurid lycra getting smashed over the head with a gurney, and that's just Ghent.

Sorry Rob, a bit confused. Is it at the Ghent 6 Day, or Revolutions that I would get to see men hitting each other with folding tables? I assume this is done in the Australian Pursuit. The object being to catch the rider in front, whack him over the head with a chair, then catch the next rider? Can we try this on the advanced Sunday sessions next year? Bagsy, being behind Miles.

I totally agree the TV coverage of Revolution last year was worse than appalling. I recorded them and on average the race time made up about 40% of the air time, the rest being the intro, two uninteresting men talking to one another, and adverts. (Yes I was that bored).

Revolution needs jazzing up for it to work on TV. For example adding flashy disco lights tracking riders, a sound system and a good MC. would make entertaining viewing, a bit like WWF, or whatever it is called. After all Revolution is not meant to ape the Olympics, World Cup or Champs. I would've thought it should be more like a 6 day.

I don't know, 6 days can be pretty pathetic. They don't get the turn out like they used to, and many are being done away with.

If you want to watch 'real' racing, with standard events and decent riders then a rev or 6 day isn't going to cut it anyway. At least the 6 days are supposedly fun, revolution is neither. It's a boring, contrived procession designed to 'showcase' the flavour of the month rider/s to a bunch of hospitality corporates who couldn't give a toss what the racing looks like, as long as they get to wear their pointy shoes and perve at a podium girl

This. No chair smashing, but there are people flying through the air.

  • Big sport now track hey.lot of interests and reps.hmm.
Look out for our Harrison in Raleigh team, should be some good youth racing.

  • ^^^ Tuesday night track league is where it's at. Free entrance, pick of the seats, no-one else around to be talking to you to distract from the action!

  • Any results about.?

  • Thanks.
