you could try drilling the bolt and supergluing/screwing a slimmer bolt into the hole.
for my money though, sounds like a bike shop job to me!

You can get screw/bolt extractors quite cheaply. Basically you drill a hole into the offending bolt, then screw in a thread extractor (which is left-hand threaded) which, once tight, starts to unscrew the stuck bolt.

Not sure what the smallest size is though.

Stop swearing, then drill the bolt out and you're done.

Thanks for the responses. Is my LBS likely to have the tools to sort this out?

Jump up and down and move it all around.
Shake your head to the sound, put your hands on the ground.
Take one step left and one step right.
One to the front and one to the side.
Clap your hands once and clap your hands twice
And if it look like this then you're doing it right. -

It isn't going to be very tight, you may be able to get it to turn with pointy thing, I used an old school compass to do this once, worth a try, it was surprisingly easy.

there are some sarky buggers on this forum - but yes quite funny.
it all reminds of the one about the new recruit being on a building site and being told to go ask the foreman for a long weight.
and then the next day a sky hook etc etc.
but yes if in doubt take it to local bike shop. i am sure they can help.

standard job for an inverse shim, looks like.
Shit...
I was just installing a new seatpost and tightening the bolt in my frame when I heard a loud crack. I pulled out the allen key and found that half of the bolt was on the end of the key, the other half, without a head, is screwed into my frame. The seatpost is still loose...
What the shitting hell do I do now?
Any help appreciated.
