Some of the best children's books ever, and as the films were all made in close consultation with Astrid Lindgren (a rarity with films of books), they are excellent, too.

Apology from the PM about how Alan Turing was treated http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page20571
While after all his achievements for the UK his prosecution was a slap in the face, lets not forget all the other gay people who had their life ruined by the state. This statment does have a symbolism of an apology of sorts to the entire gay community as a hole.

Being prosecuted by the state having a boyfriend is one of the most horrible things imaginable.
-
• #380
All those girlfriends prosecuted? terrible.

Well, I originally posted something puerile about gays but in light of the thread (you know which one) I decided to post something sincere.

Ha! the temptation is there I'll admit it.

It's just that you left out the 'for' after 'state'.

blimey here's a bump from the past. Looks like a nice ride, anyone thought of doing a re-run?
-
• #389
Jesus, didn't expect to ever see this being bumped.
Texas, thanks for the headsup, will have to look around and see if anywhere is still showing it.
Ian, can't say that I've ever considered officially organising a re-run of this. Is there any interest? -

I posted about that in the Maths thread when it was on live.
Bloody mathematicians should pay more attention to words. Hmmpf!

Bright times.
When riding gears was a special ride on the forum!
-
• #395
Yeah this was my last forum ride I think and indeed a good one :)
Although I was on a fixed, I dont think I could make this distance on fixed at the moment -
• #396
It was a brilliant ride. Those of us who rode 160 miles were all geared. :)
From memory, Mike was the only fixed rider, is that right?
-
• #397
Yep, I can't remember anyone else.
-
• #398
Mike was the only fixed rider.
Paul was the only person with a broken hip, riding tubs with no way to fix them and far too few clothes for someone who went on to sleep at the stones. -

We should do this again!
Wow haven't seen that face in a while. I remember watching pippe langkous videos over and over when I was at my grandparents in Holland. That brought back some memories
